Join the TUESDAY Winter Session of our fun and relaxed parent and child playgroup! We'd like to invite parents and caregivers of little ones aged 0 to 5 to be part of our unstructured and child-led playgroup, running from 9 to 11 am in the Lower Hall of the Mount Pleasant Community Centre. It's a wonderful opportunity for children to explore, play, and make new friends while adults get to connect and share the joys and challenges of parenting. This playgroup is open to everyone! Not just Mount Pleasant residents. This session runs from January 9 to June 24. Our group runs and thrives on volunteer efforts! Keyholders are especially important as they open and close the hall each week for the group - if we do not have enough volunteers for the keyholder position, we will have to cancel. Other roles include board member, party helper, toy cleaner, and more. You will receive an email asking you to rank your volunteer role preference closer to the start of the playgroup session. We also have a shared snack duty. *Please note: We must register all participants, including infants and drop-ins as there is a building capacity.  Registration must be completed by the child's guardian, not a nanny or day home provider. A nanny can be added as the adult attending playgroup. You are required to have a Mount Pleasant Community Association (MPCA) membership before you buy a ticket for the Playgroup Event. If you have not registered for a MPCA Membership yet, 1) click on the LOGIN button (top right), enter your email and follow the steps to make a login. 2) Go to Membership link (top middle) to purchase a membership. MPCA memberships are non-refundable. Playgroup tickets can be refunded within 2 weeks of the start of the session, minus a $2.50 transaction fee. Mount Pleasant Sportsplex offers Members' Stick & Puck/Ring to members of the Mount Pleasant Community Association. Current membership is required for sign up. This is an all-ages activity. Members under the age of 13 must have a guardian in the arena with them. Check-in at the office is required prior to going on the ice. To minimize risk of injuries, all members under the age of 18 are required to wear FULL hockey equipment, and adults are required to wear a helmet, skates and gloves, plus long-sleeved jacket and pants. Body-checking, rough play, slap shots, pick up games, scrimmages, and formal coaching are prohibited. By signing up, members know the risks of injuries and will participate with caution and respect all others participating.
